Description

The Grillo MD 15 is a hydrostatic lawn mower with a centrally mounted 83 cm cutting deck , which is equipped with a quick-change lever (“ Quick Shift ”). This allows you to switch from mulching to rear discharge mode directly and comfortably from the driver’s seat. It is an ideal lawn mower for working on slopes and where an optimal finish is required.
The low distance from the ground makes it an ideal machine for working under low branches.
The MD 15 is equipped with a Loncin LC1P92F OHV 1-cylinder petrol engine with 452 cc displacement and 15 hp .

The mower deck, made entirely of steel, is equipped with a blade . The “swinging” blade ends with a special cutting profile facilitate precise work under all circumstances. The cutting height adjustment goes from 2.5 to 7.5 cm and can be set in 6 positions using a lever. Another position for transport, which raises the entire mower and automatically switches off the PTO, makes it easier to overcome obstacles and curbs. The mower deck belt is self-regulating . The entire machine is always kept parallel to the ground and the cutting pattern remains excellent even after many years of use. The PTO is switched on using a push button located near the handlebars.

The “Quick Shift” lever allows you to switch from one mode to another without having to get off the machine and continue working without interruption. There is no need to change the blade.

The rear discharge mode is useful for high grass and is suitable when mowing is not done regularly. The clippings are fed into the opening on the side of the steel housing. The mowing deck is also equipped with an anti-scalp roller. As a further precaution and to increase reliability against impacts, the housing hinges have been placed inwards.  The mulching mode is ideal for frequent mowing. The grass clippings are finely chopped, which promotes the reabsorption of nutrients into the soil. You can also mulch after a first pass with rear discharge to achieve a better finish.

The transmission consists of a hydrostatic gearbox equipped with a fan for oil cooling. This increases performance and reduces operating temperatures. The continuously variable speed from 0 to 9 km/h allows you to choose the driving speed with precision.   The swinging front axle keeps all four wheels on the ground even on fairly uneven terrain.  The mechanical steering system is smooth, the inner steering angle is 45 cm and allows optimal maneuverability even on surfaces rich in obstacles such as plants, street lamps, etc.

The MD 15 is compact, with a low centre of gravity and optimal weight distribution to ensure maximum stability and optimum safety for the operator. The seat is placed close to the ground, the low combustion engine with vertical shaft, the cutting deck positioned centrally and exactly between the four wheels and the battery mounted on the front axle make the machine extremely stable.   The feet rest on a footplate that can be adjusted in two positions to meet the needs of the operator.

The control levers are ergonomic , the drive lever allows precise selection of the speed. Using the brake pedal, the drive lever is returned to the neutral position and the 4 wheels are braked. The parking brake brakes the rear wheels.

All components, from the simplest to the most complex, are of the highest quality . Chassis, cutting unit, mower deck, everything is manufactured in Grillo’s workshops in Italy using the best materials and the most modern technology, with the aim of achieving 100% constant, controlled top quality. Grillo machines are painted using a double electrostatic powder coating. First there are the washing baths and preparation, then a first protective layer is applied which, together with baking in the oven, provides the best basis for the finishing application. The second layer of paint and another baking at 190°C in the oven give the hardness and shine that are characteristic of our products. All MD 15s are assembled meticulously and by skilled personnel. The final test involves checking all the functions of the MD 15. Another and definitive guarantee of a high quality product.
