Grillo front-mounted ride-on mower with collector FD 450

The FD450 cutting deck is unique in its category . It has two counter-rotating blades and a third , centrally positioned towards the front in relation to the operator, allowing an extraordinary overview of the area to be worked!
It enables precise work even under bushes or low branches and reduces finishing work to a minimum. The profile is reinforced at the front and sides.
The V-belt for driving the blades is not toothed; it can withstand impacts against stones or other obstacles.

The cutting width is 113 cm and the cutting height can be adjusted from a minimum of 25 to a maximum of 90 cm. The cutting height is adjusted by pressing a button on the dashboard, comfortably from the driver’s seat. The continuous adjustment allows the ideal cutting height to be achieved, even for mulching , which is available using an optional kit provided for this purpose.
The hydraulically assisted cutting machine can be raised by pressing a button in the event of displacement or to overcome obstacles.

The innovative cutting system allows for increased acceleration of the air-grass flow . The three blades simultaneously throw the grass clippings into the spacious loading channel, thus increasing the loading capacity. By loading the grass clippings at high speed, they are further compacted and increase the efficiency of the 450 L volume of the grass catcher.
The efficiency of the “Made by Grillo” system proves to be optimal even in difficult conditions such as high and wet grass . In the autumn season, when the leaves cover the lawn, the FD 450 manages to collect them without clogging .

The Grillo FD450 is extremely manoeuvrable and pleasant to drive. The steering system and the rear steering axle allow an inner steering angle of just 30 cm.
The hydrostatic transmission is controlled in both forward and reverse gear by a pedal equipped with a “shock absorber”.
In tight spaces or on areas with obstacles that require a lot of maneuvering, the FD450 always proves to be a manoeuvrable machine.

Thanks to the floating mowing deck, you can achieve an excellent cut even on uneven ground.
The pivoting rear steering axle, the drive wheels with garden tires and the system that supports the deck allow it to follow the unevenness precisely without damaging the grass cover.
The speed of the FD450 is continuously adjustable from 0 to 11 km/h . The garden is kept quickly and with a high quality result.
If necessary, the differential lock operated by pedal increases traction and safety.
The mowing deck wheels are made of solid rubber : punctures are impossible !

When the grass catcher is full, the blades switch off automatically . It is possible to select the warning buzzer option (just disconnect the electrical connector), which then signals that the grass catcher is full.
The grass catcher is emptied using a push button from the driver’s seat. The hydraulic system with two independent movements allows the grass catcher to be lifted up to 170 cm and to extend up to 45 cm at the rear , so that the clippings can be emptied into the bed of a truck. The grass catcher opens automatically.

The PTO is engaged via an electromagnetic clutch at the push of a button from the driver’s seat.
The parking brake is a disc brake ; if it is engaged with the engine running, the hydraulic controls are automatically excluded unless the PTO is engaged.

The FD450 has a Briggs & Stratton 7220 Professional Series V-Twin petrol engine with 18 HP power and “Ready Start” starter motor and fuel tank with 17 litre capacity and fuel gauge. The two-cylinder OHV engine with 656 cc uses modern solutions that guarantee reliability, low consumption, high performance and reduced vibrations to a minimum.
The “Super Silent” exhaust made by Grillo has been developed to achieve a higher level of noise reduction with minimal exhaust resistance. The engine has ball bearings on the crankshaft, oil pump, oil filter and cast iron cylinder.

The spacious and comfortable driver’s seat is ergonomic. The suspension is adaptable to the weight of the operator.

Cleaning the cutting deck is quick and easy: just connect the water hose to the connector provided and the entire cutting unit will be cleaned effortlessly. The cutting deck of the FD450 is easily removable and can be placed vertically using the feet provided: the drive belt can be easily removed, making maintenance easy. It is also possible to remove the loading channel without the need for tools.  By lifting the grass catcher or the driver’s seat, you can easily access the drive components or the engine. To facilitate transport, the Grillo FD450 is equipped with lifting hooks.
