Strong, robust, at home in difficult terrain

The robust ride-on flail mower AS 1040 YAK 4WD is made for tough use on uneven, rough and steep terrain. The ride-on mower effortlessly and reliably chops up extensive green space maintenance, growth up to 1.50 meters, undergrowth and young shoots. This flail mower is therefore suitable for professional use by service providers, municipalities and garden and landscape gardeners. The low center of gravity and the perfect weight balance of 50:50 on the front and rear axles are essential for off-road capability.

Power pack with direct flail shaft drive

The AS 1040 YAK 4 WD is powered by a professional Vanguard V-Twin engine. The horizontal engine delivers a maximum of 23 hp (17.2 kW) with 627 cc displacement and transfers the power directly to the flail shaft via the V-belt. The cyclone air filter ensures optimal fresh air supply. Thanks to the oil and petrol pumps, the AS 1040 YAK 4WD is fully suitable for slopes.

Continuously variable all-wheel drive with cruise control function

The hydrostatic drive allows the ride-on flail mower to be controlled comfortably and continuously in the range of 6.8 km/h forwards and 6.3 km/h backwards. The permanent all-wheel drive ensures the best propulsion on any terrain. The rear axle differential can be locked at any time using the foot pedal. Driving is easy and comfortable using the hand drive lever. The automatic parking brake and the cruise control function are also integrated into the drive lever. For safety, the machine also has an emergency brake pedal for the right foot, like a car.

Surfing flail mower with Y-flails

The mulching mower deck with 56 Y-flails and a working width of one meter achieves area performance of up to 6,800 m²/h. The clippings are evenly deposited as a mulch layer across the entire working width. The cutting pattern, even with very high vegetation, is visually homogeneous and attractive. There are 7 levels available for adjusting the cutting height from 30-110 mm. The pendulum-mounted mower deck moves upwards when sitting on the sides or when high force is applied to the blades (surfing mower deck). This prevents damage to the mower deck, rotor and flails as best as possible. The asymmetrical arrangement of the mower deck enables efficient mowing of edge areas and obstacles.

High seating comfort and ergonomics

The ergonomic and upright seating position in the machine ensures plenty of legroom for operators up to 1.95 m tall. The bucket seat can be adjusted in length to suit every user. The innovative suspension system with end position damping can also be individually and continuously adjusted to suit every driver. In addition, all controls are logically arranged and easily accessible. Aluminum side panels protect the driver’s hands from thorns and bushes. A standard tire puncture protection system with AS-Motor flat tire stop reliably prevents flat tires.
