AS 940 Sherpa 4WD RC all-wheel drive ride-on mower with remote control

The AS 940 Sherpa 4WD RC is the world’s first ride-on mower with remote control. It can be used in ride-on mode or via remote control. Equipped with the Briggs & Stratton Professional Series 8 engine and hydrostatic transmission, the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD RC is suitable for slopes and is comfortable to operate. In flat and wide terrain, it is recommended to work in ride-on mode for high area performance. Remote-controlled operation is used to ensure high operator safety on slopes and inclines. User comfort is also significantly increased: no exhaust fumes, no noise, no vibrations, no dust, no pollen, no insects and no undergrowth. In RC mode, slopes of up to 33° can be mowed using the professional remote control with a long range. The following functions of the machine can be controlled remotely: start and stop, drive forward, reverse and stop, cutting height adjustment, blade clutch, differential lock and steering trim and reversal. In ride-on mode, the remote control takes over some of the functions of the dashboard. The control levers on the remote control are progressive: the harder the control lever is pressed, the higher the speed or the steering angle. When the control lever is released, the parking brake is automatically applied or the steering goes to the middle position. Only a short familiarization and training phase is necessary to be able to control the machine safely and precisely.

High comfort in ride-on mode

Thanks to the all-round tubular frame construction, the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD RC enables a comfortable seating position that can be adjusted to the operator’s height. Drivers from 1.60 m – up to 1.90 m can sit comfortably in the machine. The bucket seat is adjustable in length and suspension comfort. The low center of gravity of the machine makes it very stable on slopes. The side branch deflectors and the folding bar to the rear protect the operator.

Closed, surfing mulching deck

Like all devices in the AS-Motor Sherpa family, the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD RC is also equipped with a 90 cm wide, surfing mowing deck. This has a cross-blade system that chops up the clippings, shreds them and throws them centrally to the rear. To protect the blades and the turf, the closed mowing deck can avoid obstacles by leaning on the sides. The cutting height is infinitely adjustable via remote control in the range of 80 – 135 mm.
